Recorded in the hills of Faranah Guinea West Africa.. A djembe/dunun instructional coming from the king of the djembe.. Fadouba Oulare who passed away this year, (2010) was the first lead drummer of Africa's famed "Les ballet Africains" in 1952. This group was the first collection of the best musicians and dancers in all of Africa. They traveled the world showing the for the first time in history the magical drum and dance of Africa. Fadouba played with Mamady Kieta and Famoudou Konate in the cd Mogobalu. He is also seen in the movies "Mogobalu", and "Circus Baobab" This DVD breaks down part by part Djembe, Dunun, and Solo phrasing. All parts are played with a metronome to hear the correct timing. All parts are played individually and then played in unison with the whole group. Several bonus features include a night party with acrobat dancers and a old clip of the grand Fadouba himself playing with the Family in 2005.
